They both have the hand-written Hedi Schoop Hollywood California mark, these collectible pieces reflect the artist’s distinctive style.  The girl has dried flowers in her apron, we'll leave them in for you, but easy to remove if you don't want them, we photographed her with and without the flowers.  If you collect Hedi Schoop figurines, we hope this is a great find, we know her "couples" figurines are the most popular among collectors. *Hedi Schoop - (Hedwig) Schoop was born in Switzerland on April 3, 1906. In 1933, she and her husband Frederick Hollander emigrated to the United States and settled in Los Angeles, CA.  Schoop began making a line of plaster of Paris dolls that were dressed in contemporary fashions. She was discovered by a representative of Barker Brothers department store, who advised her to just make the ceramic figures, no fabric clothing.  Hedi and her husband separated in 1938.  In 1940 Hedi began selling her figurines as Hedi Schoop Art Creations. She personally modeled almost every piece in her line.  Her male and female figurines are the most popular among collectors.  Her best years were the late 1940's and early 1950's, however, a fire in 1958 ended her business, as she chose not to rebuilt.  Later she worked as a free-lance designer for several Los Angeles area firms, and retired from ceramics in the 1960's. Hedi Schoop died on April 14, 1995.
